What is the Path of Least Resistance and How to Apply it?

“I don’t like my situation.”

“I hate my life!”

“I despise those people!”

“I am disgusted with how I look!”

If one is open to admit, the above statements are the usual expressions of our refusal to accept some stuff in life. These come from desires to create better experiences in our world of contrast, where everyone is a game-changer, a creator, and creation is the game of the Universe.

The current condition of our world has encouraged and inspired the majority to fix its problems, situations, environment, and even people. However, roadblocks are on our path that need our attention. These roadblocks challenge our core desires, feelings, perceptions, and our well-being while in the fixing process. One of those roadblocks is resistance.

Resistance is opposing, dishonoring, or refusing what is. It is partially blind, not allowing one to see the entire picture as it is a negative energy contradicting and manipulating things to change, disturbing some order and natural flow of things in this self-organizing Universe.

As positivity overcomes negativity, so do acceptance and surrender in resistance. These are challenging, and a better way of doing this is taking the path of least resistance, where one is still not fully accepting one’s circumstances but is aware and acknowledging another option to make changes. It’s like avoiding the traffic per se a re-routing to get to one’s target destination, satisfying one’s desires, hence, a better experience.

We create a better and more positive experience by choosing the path of least resistance, where the experience is much kinder to us. This path invites everyone to:

  1. Pause — helps one to ease, slow down, and breathe
  2. Allow the unchangeable — reminds one to surrender and accept that some things cannot change
  3. Identify real intention — leads one to introspect on reasons for your resistance
  4. Ask more than react — guides one in learning the wisdom and lessons in challenges
  5. Be more mindful — teaches one to be more focused on one’s intention
  6. Observe more than judge and assume — helps one to be more understanding and accepting
  7. Reframe beliefs — gives one a new perspective in perceiving the world and people
  8. Be more present — makes one worry less about the future that has not yet come and past that’s already gone
  9. Trust the process — encourages one to let go and be still
  10. Appreciate more — inspires one to enjoy life despite challenges.

Everything takes time and a process to go through. It starts with small steps and is more effective through consistent practice.

When circumstances become difficult, one can perceive them differently. Every challenging situation comes with a solution, and every question has an answer. These help one realize that choices are always available.

Be kind to yourself, and take the easier path with the least effort.
