“Why am I bored all the time?”

“What is wrong with me?”

These are the questions that you and I might have asked from time to time.

The only permanent thing in this world is change. Creation is the game of the Universe we all play. We are all creators and game changers. As the catalyst of evolution is the creation and that of creation is change, a creator creates. Experience is what the creator is after.

The tools of creation are thoughts, words, and actions. They are all energy-creating our realities, world, and experiences.

Emotions are our responses and physical manifestations to the quality of the thoughts we think about, and our feelings are the reactions to our emotions.

Boredom can be looked at in many ways. Some would say the loss of interest and for others, the inability to find meaning or purpose.

It’s an emotion where one feels dissatisfaction with not knowing and not having what to do or want to do or be where it also occurs when one is doing and being in the same routine.

The cause of boredom is the conscious and unconscious resistance to:

1. Go through its emotional process such as discomfort, discontent, agitation, confusion, being overwhelmed, frustration, disappointments, guilt, etc., that result in incessant suffering when emotions are unmanaged, ignored, and suppressed

2. Listen and heed a call to create that result in powerlessness when not living to one’s truth and expression

3. Understand and cultivate one’s inner desires that result in self-sabotage when not living to one’s purpose

4. Discover more and act on one’s ideas that result in regrets when one misses an opportunity

5. Change that results in stagnation when there’s no experience of growth

The underlying cause of all these resistances is fear that one remains bored and settles into the routine because of:

1. Fear of being labeled as ambitious and arrogant to follow his desires and so one remains stuck

2. Fear of feeling nothing and so one engages in temporary pleasures or sometimes hurts oneself

3. Fear of being labeled as worthless and lazy for not doing or producing something. One then ends up doing that’s not in alignment with one’s genuine desire.

4. Fear of being a nobody that one tries to be somebody else

How can one circumvent this boredom experience?

Like any other emotion, unmanaged boredom can have toxic results like depression. You are being encouraged to check on these choices and only apply those deemed necessary otherwise, seek professional help.

A. Let go of the resistance and fear by:

1. Observing and detaching oneself from thoughts/beliefs that no longer work for oneself.

Ask this question, how can I reframe my beliefs?

2. Allowing oneself to process emotions.

Ask this question: How can I accept what I’m going through?

B. Be sensitive about one’s gut/intuition by:

1. Introspecting than just reacting.

Ask this question, what is the message I could not hear and see?

2. Changing the perception of boredom as an opportunity to create.

Ask this question, what is this experience teaching me?

3. Allowing oneself to pause, breathe, and appreciate oneself.

Ask this question, what am I thankful for today?

Emotions are energy. They are also temporary. Boredom is hard energy passing through one’s system that needs release by letting it go and converting it to a fresh experience by looking at it from a different angle and creating something good out of it.
