WHAT IT MEANS AND HOW TO BE MORE PRESENT

“I will be happy when I have more money in my bank.”
“I still despise him because of how he treated me in the past.”
“I will exercise and eat healthy when the time is right.”
“I cannot forget what she did to me, and it still haunts me today.”

The above thoughts and self-talk result from the unconscious and conscious habit of attachment to either reminiscing or imagining the past and future without realizing the effects on one’s attitudes, behavior, health, beliefs, and perceptions.

Everyone is consumed and stuck with something. What is this something?
These are the thoughts and the stories one adds to them.

The past-oriented people get stuck in regrets, hoping to relieve their fondest memories or replay the unforgettable and unpleasant ones because of the pain they suffered.

The future-oriented ones are either impatient or anxious to make their dreams happen.

Both orientations can lead to depression, frustration, stress, and other negative emotions.

If one observes one’s experiences of constantly looking back and forward ways of living, one misses the only time existing, which is the present moment…
